Where to stay in Nimbin

Nimbin is small, so beds in the village are limited. Most accommodation is cabins, farm stays and retreats in the hills within 15 minutes' drive.

In the village

If you want to walk to Cullen Street, stay in the village itself. Nimbin Crystal Tourist Park on Sibley Street is a caravan park a few minutes' walk from the main street, Grey Gum Lodge on High Street is a guesthouse just up the hill, and there are a handful of townhouses and holiday rentals on Cecil Street and around the village.

Camping at Nimbin Showground

The Nimbin Showground at 33–37 Cecil Street, an easy walk from the village, has powered and unpowered camping. Sites are first come, first served and can't be booked, so arrive before dark. The maximum stay is seven nights, and there's a camp kitchen, hot showers and a dump point.

Cabins, farm stays and retreats

Most places to stay are out in the valleys: Tuntable Creek, Stony Chute, Blue Knob, Lillian Rock, Terania Creek and The Channon. Expect a quiet night, big views, often a gravel drive, and no walking home from the pub. Many are small, owner-run places listed on booking sites, so book direct where you can.

If you're coming for the rainforest, stays around The Channon and Terania Creek put you closest to Protesters Falls, while the Blue Knob and Lillian Rock side is on the way to Mount Nardi and the Kyogle road.

Book early for MardiGrass

The whole district fills up for MardiGrass in early May, and for big weekends like the Fringe Festival. Book months ahead, or look at Lismore (about half an hour away) as a fallback.
